Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases. Transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and melted butter. Toss until the apples are well coated.
  4. Arrange the apple mixture in the center of the puff pastry, leaving a border of about 1 inch around the edges.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry over the apples, pleating it as you go to create a rustic border.
  6. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
